United Arab Emirates and U.S. ships sail in formation for a photo exercise during Iron Defender 2022 in the Arabian Gulf. Iron Defender is an annual bilateral training event between U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and forces from the United Arab Emirates. The exercise focuses on maritime security operations, mine countermeasures, and harbor defense.

An F-35B Lightning II aircraft assigned to Marine Strike Fighter Squadron (VMFA) 121 launches from the flight deck of amphibious assault carrier USS Tripoli (LHA 7). Megaproject Partners Test New Application for Lidar Models

An unmanned aircraft system (UAS) captures images of a decommissioned frigate in Philadelphia in mid-February. UAS images can be stitched together with scans from a tripod-mounted lidar device to build a comprehensive 3D model of a ship.
