An Air Force veteran tries to force a Marine, a soldier and a sailor to admit that the Air Force is the best branch in this comedic short about branch rivalry from Shannon Corbeil, a (you probably could have guessed it) U.S. Air Force veteran, actor and We Are The Mighty host.

The short film teases each branch, hitting them where it mock-hurts, with all the good-natured fun of branch-on-branch joking. Think of a stereotype for your fellow brothers and sisters in arms and it probably makes an appearance in the film, which stars actual veterans from each branch: Tyler Grey (U.S. Army), Hiram Murray (U.S. Marine Corps), Jeff Prater (U.S. Navy), Athena Fleming (U.S. Coast Guard), and Corbeil, who also wrote and directed the piece. Where’s the Space Force, you might be wondering? That gets addressed, too.

The crew also consisted predominantly of military veterans, hiring vets in front of and behind the camera to tell authentic military stories — even if just for laughs.

While civilians may not understand all the nuances — some of them have never seen a Marine eat crayons and it shows — the acting more than makes up for any deficits in military trivia.

Filmed at the iconic American Legion Hollywood Post 43 building, the short shares film history with projects like J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek, Mad Men, and The Shining when the building opened its doors to veteran filmmakers. The short also premiered in the newly renovated Hollywood Legion Theater, a 482-seat 90-year old auditorium boasting modern acoustics with the most advanced digital picture and sound technology combined with meticulously restored 35mm & 70mm film projection capability.
